Energy Efficient Equipment Upgrades and Assessments
Airflow management and optimization of power distribution are just a few Energy Efficient best practices in today’s Data Center. Alcatex can provide a Data Center Assessment to identify and evaluate Energy Efficient opportunities and address the electrical systems, air management, HVAC and IT Equipment in the Data Center.
An Energy Assessment starts with the measurement of the Data Center Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) and the Data Center Infrastructure Efficiency (DCiE) used to determine the Energy Efficiency of the Data Center. This metric which is expressed as a percentage is calculated by dividing IT equipment power by the total facility power.
For Companies participating in the Department of Energy’s Better Building challenge for Data Centers, The Data Center Maturity Model Assessment Tool is available. The Assessment tool takes into consideration every aspect of the Data Center including power, cooling, compute, storage and networking to provide a 5 year road map to Energy Efficiency in your Data Center.
